Bivalves are a species that we commonly know as scallops, mussels, clams, oysters or razor clams. They belong to the mollusk family and their main characteristic is that they present a shell divided into two shells. These leaflets can have different colors and shapes, either irregular, rounded, triangular or elongated.

They feed on particles that are suspended in the water, such as phytoplanton. They are usually buried in soft bottoms, on surfaces and in rigid structures on the bottoms.
